Wear something “tie-dyed”.

Weekly Plans
(1) Poster Contest:
Poster Contest:
Week of January 17 th .
Students create a poster at home displaying:
(1) “underwater” scene with sea creature/s reading a book
(2) must include the following title:
“Take a Deep Dive into Literacy…Splash into New Worlds”
(3) standard 22x28 poster or smaller
(4) child’s first and last name, grade and teacher’s name on back of the poster
(5) Posters are due Tuesday, January 24 th by the end of the day.
Posters will be displayed in the cafeteria for about 2 weeks then returned to
students. Prizes will be awarded to best poster in each homeroom.

(2) Schoolwide Writing Activity:
Students will:
(K-1) Draw a picture and write a sentence about something that lives in
the sea
(2-5) Draw a picture and write a short story about something that lives
in the sea.
Writings/drawings will be displayed in the hallway next to
classrooms.

(3) Ms. Barfield will read the “Readers Oath” during morning
announcements in honor of Celebrate Literacy Week.

(4) Bingo for Books Family Night:
Thursday, January 26, 2023 5:30-7:00PM VES Cafeteria
Students and families will be invited to attend a “game night” where
students will play BINGO to win books. They will be served a free meal
of pizza and soft drinks.

Poster Contest:
Week of January 17 th .
Students create a poster at home displaying:
